TEASER

ANIMATIC – PILOT SEQUENCE

Our next step is to secure the necessary funding to produce this pilot sequence and move forward with the production of New Moon.

Once upon a time, in the dark days of the Thousand Days’ War…

Fleeing the violence of Colombia’s Thousand Days’ War, Margarita disguises herself as a boy and escapes with her brother. Suddenly, the ground opens beneath her, plunging her into a magical underground world from which she must find a way out.

There, she meets an enigmatic old woman who holds secrets greater than the war itself and guides Margarita through the discovery of her first menstruation.

To escape, they must weave a raft, navigate an endless river, and face trials that reveal Margarita’s greatest fear: accepting who she truly is.

CHARACTERS

FIRST MENSTRUATION OR

NEW MOON

For many girls, it is associated with shame or pain, when in fact it marks the beginning of a profound transformation: a moment of growth, of connecting with their identity and the strength of the women who came before them. New Moon transforms this moment into a magical journey, where what once seemed like a feared secret is revealed as a luminous power.

THE GOOD BLOOD

The blood of life, of the female cycle, of fertility, renewal, and connection with the moon.

It is the blood that creates rather than destroys, flowing in harmony with nature.

It marks a cycle of renewal, the beginning of a journey toward womanhood and life.

THE THOUSAND DAYS´ WAR...

THE BAD BLOOD

The blood shed through violence, destruction, and hatred.

It is the blood of the fallen, the blood that corrupts, interrupts life, and weakens even the ancient spirits.

Bad blood silences, devastates, and weakens, leaving only the echo of fear.

la guerra.jpg

This was one of the bloodiest conflicts in Colombian history (1899–1902), leaving entire towns devastated. Amid this violence, women were used as instruments of power, denied their voices and their most intimate nature. Even menstruation was seen as something to be hidden, as though being a woman were something to be ashamed of. New Moon reclaims this memory and transforms it into a story in which feminine strength flourishes, even in the midst of war.

THE MAGICAL CAVE

la cueva.jpg

It is a place of mystery and transformation where, guided by the old woman, Margarita discovers her first menstrual blood and confronts her fears about her identity. Within this dark, secret-filled space, the most magical moments of her journey unfold: discovering her true self and awakening to her womanhood. It is, in fact, a metaphor for her own womb.
